    It's my impression that software engineers are not bothered by Corona as much as most people. That's no surprise given: - our safe jobs - our ability to work from home - our high average income and saving ability It's a good time to remember how privileged we are.

    Since it is rarely said outside technical groups: Remember that even privacy-friendly contact tracing apps aren't risk-free. If you are a stalking victim or another in-risk person, don't offer your data. It's very okay! Not everybody needs to participate for this to work.

    Ran into a (potential) Oracle database bug today where an mview rendered an entirely different result then the actual query. (Not a synchronization issue.) Fixed by replacing Rewrote the view query from EXISTSNODE to EXTRACTNODE and everything worked as expected.

    Hovedsak på VG: En blogger uten noe som helst medisinsk kompetanse uttaler seg om barns helsemessige trygghet i barnehage. Altså, det er helt greit at noen velger å beholde barna hjemme. Men kan bruke forsida til noe annet enn Pilotfrue sin uvesentlige mening om saken?

    Vi står på begynnelsen av en enestående krise som stiller oss foran umulige valg. Med tid som primusmotor kan åpen kildekode ikke ha effekten vi forbinder med den. Jeg håper fortsatt at kilden blir publisert, men det er fornuftig å ikke sette dette øverst på lista.

    Impressive: Someone wrote a compiler which compiles cheats (for Counterstrike) to use Return-oriented programming, only executing code that is already present in the machine's memory. This is done to try to bypass anticheat engines. Seen at

    It's my hope that we all remember this before answering impossible trade offs that government employees, health care and service workers face on a daily basis. It's more than a full time job to consider even particles of these issues and it's okay not to have an opinion.

    I really wonder why the 'getGenericSignature' method is exposed in the RecordComponent class while it is private in Method and Field. Shouldn't the class file format be somewhat hidden from the reflection API?

    Attempted to add support for Java records to Byte Buddy, but now I'm attempting to fix javac () - easy mistake to make. type annotations really are complex to implement.
