*steps onto soapbox in 4-inch heels* instead of smugly tweeting from a distance about how fucked up georgia is or how certain industries (that hire a ton of women, poc, and queer people) should abandon the state entirely, here's a thread of resources in GA that need money now:

Big shout out to for her talk on online community and safety at ! When we demand and go the extra mile to ensure our physical security, we should never overlook at the intricacies of dealing with online abuses and those platforms that give us the control.

One of my favorite talks today was by fellow UC Davis and PIXEL alum and her talk on designing for safety, something we all should keep in mind✨ 🙌🏽

The talk on Designing for Safety is totally incredible and super thoughtful. There's not nearly enough safety- and ethics-first mentality in modern design processes and this sort of call-to-action is so refreshing.

A lot of people follow me who are either already rich and wealthy or who will be because of tech IPOs and whatnot. I want to humbly suggest that if you are inclined to be philanthropic, take the time to talk to and consider giving to orgs DOING actual work.

Platforms *must* include Trust & Safety in the product lifecycle. We make sure that we always ask "what's the worst thing that someone can do with this feature?" early in the product and design lifecycle
