Yeah, some people will need it but others won't. Like I'd love people to donate _through_ me because of my work but being able to send that back into the community / charity is twice as good (because I _don't_ need extra right now).

Don't give up. This won't be free/charge-free forever. Once they get over people, it will tax everyone. So, just keep up the great work. I mean, the best open-source projects moved to Github/Gitlab or self-hosted already after the acquisition.
