Everyone optimizes for 60 FPS. The real bottleneck is the JS-to-native bridge. Discord's iOS app used React Native with native modules to move bottlenecks into the native layer. Native modules run on the device's native thread and are accessed via the JSI bridge. That reduces JS-to-native round trips and stabilizes frame rendering on older devices. Patterns like TurboModules and Fabric aim to cut bridge traffic; this comeback highlights why it matters.
